Our mission is to leverage large clinical, biometrics, and omics data not only to delineate disease pathobiology but also to transform medicine, in the U.S., Japan, and around the world.  We take the vision-driven approach — rather than technology- or needs-driven approaches — to make quantum leaps in science.

Our work applies novel transdisciplinary methods — an integration of biostatistics, computational biology, machine learning, and causal discovery/inference — to the complex interplay between host factors, environmental factors, healthcare systems, and health outcomes.

The Hasegawa Lab is the “data science” division of the Emergency Medicine Network (EMNet) — a research collaboration of 245 medical centers around the world — at the Department of Emergency Medicine, Massachusetts General Hospital.
